Who doesn't like going to the movies with friends? I know I absolutely love it! I recently went to watch a movie with some of my besties and it was sooooo fun! We had wanted to have a fun movie night for a while now and when the opportunity to go to the theater arrived, we took advantage of it. The group of friends that went to the movies was Jam, Jules, Airplane, Cat, and I (go read 'My Crazy, Weird, Amazing Besties' blog for reference if you are very confused at this point). It was planned since the week before, we would go to the movies on Friday, March 13th at 7:00 PM sharp. We had it all planned out, except one thing...WHAT MOVIE WERE WE GOING TO WATCH???????????
This was World War III by the way we discussed it. We argued and argued and argued about what movie to watch. 'The Duff', 'Cinderella', and 'The Lazares Effect' were all possible choices. Finally, I, as the mother (not actually the mom, the responsible one) took over and decided the only reasonable thing to do was vote. So off we went to make ballots in order to vote which movie we wanted to see. I voted for 'The Duff' but the others had a different idea. The most voted for movie was...'Cinderella'! When I announced the movie we were going to see, everyone moaned and groaned. ''Seriously! That's the movie we're gonna see! That's so childish!''. I told them to suck it up and be quiet, majority rules! So the only thing left to do was wait while the girls who had voted for 'Cinderella' tried to get everybody else excited for it.
The day finally came and one of the girls, Jam, went to my house after school to get ready for the grand movie night. We went to the park while 6:30 came by. While we waited, we looked at the cute, fluffy ducks at the pond at Hudson Memorial Park. Our shoes were soaked in mud, but we didn't care. One specific duck, Charlie, looked like a small fluffy cloud you could lay on all day. The rest of the ducks were his "girlfriends" and they looked just as soft. After looking at the ducks, we played on the kiddie playground. We slid on the slides and swung on the swings. Jam asked me if I wanted to try the banana split. Of course, I didn't know what the banana split was so curiosity got the best of me and I said yes. Jam told me to lay on two swings and then she twisted me around and let go. Let me just say that it was the scariest experience I had ever been through! The wind wooshed against my face and i felt like there was a giant swamp of alligators waiting for me at the bottom. Finally, we left the park at the time it was 5:30.
We invaded Cat's house afterward and started jumping on her trampoline. The face she made when we invaded her house was priceless! Trampolines are soooo fun! We jumped and jumped and jumped until it was time to go to my house. Jam, Cat, and I started the long walk back to my house. We ate a quick meal (pizza and Pepsi) and started to get ready for the movies. Jam and Cat changed into some of my clothes and we had a lot of fun. Finally, it was 6:30...time to leave! We piled in the car and pumped up the radio. We sang loud and abnoxious until my mom said that it was enough. Wanting to have a lot of snacks during the movie, we stopped at the gas station. We bought Sour Skittles, Twizzler Bites, Takis, chocolate, and bottles of water. Finally, we arrived at the theater, meeting up with Airplane and Jules. We bought our tickets and sat down at the very front, which was horrible (I hate the front of the theater because you have to strain your neck in order to see the movie). After many trailers, the movie started.
I will not spoil the movie, I will review it. I know that there are many Disney fans that are dying to see the movie so I will let them have their special glory moment reaction. At first, it was a very cute lovely movie, where there were laughs and cheers. Toward the end of the beginning, the story started to get duller and it almost made me shed tears. The middle made me smile and laugh as well as shed a few tears. In all, the movie was very satisfying, but it was not the best. The movie was exactly as it is in the old version of Cinderella. I thought that if they had changed up a few things, the movie would have been a little more surprising. I do not think I would go see it again because it would bore me to tears, but it was an alright movie. After the movie, everyone went home except Jam, she was going to sleep over. We had a lot of un. We watched old girly movies such as Mean Girls and Bring It on. We had pizza for breakfast and then we drove Jam home. That March 13th, 2015 was an unforgetable day for sure!
